Overview:

    As a Specialist Programmer / Digital Specialist Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software solutions using modern technologies. The role requires strong problem-solving abilities, a solid foundation in programming, and the capability to work on complex technical challenges across various domains.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, build scalable applications, and ensure optimal system performance. The position demands proficiency in coding, debugging, and implementing efficient algorithms while adhering to best practices in software development.

Candidates should demonstrate expertise in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or C++, along with a good understanding of data structures, databases, and software engineering principles. Knowledge of cloud technologies, APIs, and emerging digital tools will be an added advantage.

Our Revised Compensation Structure:

System Engineer (Trainee): INR 6.25 LPA

Specialist Programmer L3 (Trainee): INR 21 LPA

Specialist Programmer L2 (Trainee): INR 16 LPA

Specialist Programmer L1 (Trainee): INR 10 LPA + INR 1 Lakh Joining Bonus

Digital Specialist Engineer (Trainee): INR 6.25 LPA + INR 75,000 Joining Bonus

Recruitment Format:

    This year’s program will be conducted on-campus through an in-person evaluation process designed to identify candidates whose technical acumen and behavioral competencies align with our AI-driven organizational vision.

Assessment Process:

Round 1: Virtual Assessment (Online): An approximately 3-hour online test covering programming problems of varying difficulty levels. Candidates are assessed on coding, logical reasoning, and technical aptitude.

Round 2 : In-Person Assessment + Interview: Shortlisted candidates from Round 1 attend an in-person assessment of approximately 3 hours, followed by a technical and HR interview at an Infosys location.

Selection Process

The Infosys selection process is known for being rigorous with strict time management. It typically consists of three stages:

1. Online Assessment Test
The first stage is an online test conducted on platforms like HackWithInfy or Infosys Assessment Portal. It generally includes:
  • Quantitative Aptitude: Arithmetic, algebra, probability, and data interpretation
  • Logical Reasoning: Puzzles, coding-decoding, seating arrangement
  • Verbal Ability: Reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary
  • Programming/Coding Round: 1–2 coding problems (for Specialist Programmer roles)
This round is elimination-based and requires strong time management.

2. Technical Interview

Candidates who clear the assessment are invited for a technical interview. This round focuses on:
  • Core subjects (DSA, OOPS, DBMS, OS, CN)
  • Coding concepts and problem-solving
  • Project explanation (very important for freshers)
  • Basic programming knowledge (Java, Python, C++)
Interviewers often test conceptual clarity rather than rote memorization.

3. Managerial Interview (Optional)

In some cases, especially for higher roles like Digital Specialist Engineer or Specialist Programmer:

  • Situational and behavioral scenarios
  • Problem-solving approach in real-time situations
4. HR Interview

The final round evaluates communication skills, attitude, and cultural fit:

5. Offer Letter & Onboarding

  • For Aptitude: Focus on Data Interpretation and Syllogisms. These are high-weightage areas.
  • For Pseudocode: Practice tracing for loops, increments (i++ vs ++i), and recursion on paper. You won’t have a compiler to help you!
  • For Interview: Know your resume inside out. If you mentioned a project, be ready to draw its architecture.
