Job Overview
We are a developing business seeking a capable mainframe developer to support the growth of our computer infrastructure. Working with a group of IT experts, the mainframe developer’s duties include application development and maintenance
The mainframe developer must be a highly motivated, results-driven person who can develop the ideal solution for our organization’s higher-level needs in order to succeed in this role. The ideal applicant will also be a skilled communicator and listener who can articulate why their solutions are the most appropriate for us.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyzing user requirements, envisioning system features and functionality.
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable mainframe codes by setting expectations and features priorities.
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and recommend system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development
- Contributing to team meetings, troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms
- Understand Architecture Requirements and ensure effective Design, Development, Validation and Support activities
Additional Responsibilities:
- In-depth knowledge of design issues and best practices
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
- Familiar with various design, architectural patterns and software development process.
- Experience with both external and embedded databases
- Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
- Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate with remote teams in effective manner
- High flexibility to travel
