Application Engineer I
About the Role
As an Application Engineer I at Honeywell’s Pune office, you will work on the design, configuration, and deployment of software applications that power industrial automation, building management, or process control systems. You will bridge the gap between software engineering and customer-specific solution delivery, working with cross-functional teams to configure, test, and support Honeywell’s enterprise application platforms. This role offers freshers broad exposure to both software development and application engineering in a globally connected technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Development & Configuration: Design, develop, configure, and deploy software applications for Honeywell’s industrial automation or building technology platforms using programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or C#.
- System Integration: Integrate software applications with hardware controllers, sensors, and enterprise IT systems using standard protocols and APIs.
- Testing & Validation: Develop and execute test cases, perform functional validation, and support factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT) for delivered solutions.
- Debugging & Support: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and integration issues reported during development, testing, and early deployment phases.
- Documentation: Prepare technical documentation including design specifications, configuration guides, test reports, and user manuals for delivered application solutions.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with product managers, system architects, hardware engineers, and customer-facing teams to understand requirements and translate them into working software solutions.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve development processes, tools, and application frameworks within Honeywell’s engineering practices.
Skills Preferred:
- 0 to 2 years of technology related experience in product / startup companies, working on Microsoft technologies.
- Good understanding in abstraction, coding and system design skills and a deep passion and curiosity for new technology.
- Understanding and experience of C#.Net, WPF, WCF.
- Understanding and experience of the C/C++, MFC and object-oriented concepts.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 0–2 years of software development experience (internships and projects count).
