Job Description
As a Data Analyst at S&P Global, you will work with financial and Private Equity-related documents and datasets. The role focuses on data collection, extraction, validation, quality checks, reporting, and process improvement.
You will work with information such as capital calls, distributions, financial statements, and investment schedules while helping maintain accurate and reliable datasets used by global clients.
- Process and analyze financial documents received from General Partners and Limited Partners.
- Download, categorize, and tag fund-related documents from GP portals and repositories.
- Extract, standardize, and validate data from Private Equity documents.
- Analyze Partners’ Capital Account statements, cash flow statements, and investment schedules.
- Identify and classify fund-level and portfolio-company data.
- Perform data quality checks and resolve data exceptions.
- Work with automated validation logs and manual quality-control processes.
- Conduct routine reporting and basic trend analysis.
- Support data cleansing initiatives to improve dataset accuracy.
- Assist with process improvement, Lean initiatives, and automation projects.
- Perform basic SQL-driven data tasks.
- Maintain documentation of data collection and validation procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve quality and delivery targets.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects involving data enhancement and automation.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should preferably have:
- 0–1 year of experience in Fund Administration, Private Equity Operations, or Financial Data Processing.
- A strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and Python.
- Familiarity with BI tools is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles, including GAAP.
