As an ION QA Engineer at Capco in Bengaluru or Pune, you will be responsible for assuring the quality of bespoke software solutions built for process automation and infrastructure monitoring projects in the banking and capital markets space. Your day-to-day work will involve designing and executing both automated and manual test cases, working closely with developers to understand system requirements, defining test strategies, managing test plans, and ensuring that all software released to production meets global SDLC compliance standards.
This role is ideal for candidates with exposure to capital markets or financial domain applications — particularly those familiar with ION or Fidessa platforms — and who have hands-on experience or training in automation testing using Python or Java. - Work with development teams to understand project requirements, system design, and user story acceptance criteria
- Define test strategies, test approaches, and test plans for software releases and production sign-offs
- Design, develop, and execute automated and manual test scripts to validate software quality
- Investigate and evaluate opportunities to implement automated testing frameworks and tools
- Ensure all release candidate applications comply with global SDLC and compliance standards
- Manage the end-to-end testing process and escalate critical issues to project stakeholders in a timely manner
- Support the service operations team in diagnosing and pinpointing production issues before developer escalation
- Assist with change request processes, post-deployment verification, and release documentation for handover to support teams
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of QA testing methodologies — both manual and automated testing
- Proficiency in Python or Java for test automation scripting
- Basic understanding of Fixed Income, Equity, or Capital Markets financial products
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams
- Ability to accurately document technical solutions, test cases, and issue analysis
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, high-pressure delivery environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Freshers or candidates with up to 2 years of hands-on automation testing experience are eligible
- Familiarity with ION or Fidessa platforms is a good-to-have
- Exposure to banking, wealth management, or financial services domain is preferred
- Prior internship or project experience in QA, software testing, or capital markets applications is an added advantage
- Work location: Sarjapur, Bengaluru / Hinjewadi Phase 1, Pune
- Work mode: Hybrid — 3 days Work From Office per week
- Shift timings: EMEA shift — 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST (Shift allowance provided)
