We are seeking interns to join our Legal & Compliance Division for the Off Cycle Internship Program. What you’ll do in the role:
Wealth Management Advisory:
- Review and outlining of the powers of the agent under the power of attorney and general legal matters that relate to powers of attorney applied to client accounts;
- Addressing branch inquiries
- Conducting legal research
- Drafting a summary of the powers granted to the agent under a power of attorney
- Advising branch personnel on relevant powers of the agent under the power of attorney and the law applicable to the powers of attorney.
Client Documentation team:
- Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating Non‑Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), including back‑to‑back NDAs and Non‑Reliance Letters, in connection with banking transactions
- Liaising with Coverage Lawyers and Business Units on NDA matters, including issues requiring escalation
- Support FID Legal in reviewing and negotiating guarantees for traded products, ensuring Basel eligibility
Technology & Data Legal:
Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a full range of commercial contracts that may include some or all of the following:
- Technology Agreements (for software, hardware, resellers, etc.)
- Service Agreements (for consulting, professional and general services)
- NDAs
- Trial/Evaluation Agreements
- Renewals, Amendments, Schedules
- Terminations, Novations
Privacy and data protection - Review/Negotiate data protection terms and handle other miscellaneous tasks
Legal Research - Conducting legal research and assisting in other ad hoc project work
Handling large-scale contract remediation and data extraction projects
Monday to Friday from 11:30 AM – 8:30 PM IST with flexibility on standard working hours for time sensitive matters (including India Public Holidays) is expected
Periodic calls with US and EMEA internal clients and vendors
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Candidate must be pursuing LLB from any Law school preferably in the advanced stage of the program
- Solid track record in all semester examinations.
- Team player who can successfully manage multiple projects and priorities
- Ability to think independently, form opinions and make decisions
- Ability to anticipate ahead of time and escalate issues as appropriate
- Pragmatic and analytical problem solving skills - candidate needs to consistently apply sound judgment
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Must be able to maintain a high level of organization under pressure
- Successfully meet established deadline requirements – display efficient time management skills
- Possess the ability to research and resolve issues independently
- Ability to identify and recommend process efficiencies
- Attention to detail
