Job Description:
Tata Elxsi works with leading OEMs and suppliers in the automotive & transportation industries for R&D, Design and Product Engineering Services, right from architecture to launch and beyond. We bring together technologies that accelerate development & testing of connected autonomous and electric cars & off-highway vehicles.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative UI/UX Designer to join our team and contribute to next-generation Automotive HMI (Human-Machine Interface) projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design UI layouts, components, and visual styles for automotive HMI platforms.
- Create wireframes, user flows, and interaction patterns for enhanced UX.
- Support design research, benchmarking, persona development, and usability studies.
- Build high-fidelity prototypes and specifications in Figma for development teams.
- Collaborate with UX researchers, visual designers, and HMI developers.
- Ensure compliance with brand guidelines, accessibility standards, and automotive UX best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Interaction Design, Visual Communication, or related field.
- Strong proficiency in Figma for UI design, prototyping, and component-based workflows.
- Understanding of UI principles (color, typography, layout) and UX fundamentals (IA, usability).
- Basic knowledge of design research methods.
- Strong visual design skills with pixel-perfect execution.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Passion for automotive design and emerging in-vehicle technologies.
Good to Have:
- Exposure to motion design or micro-interaction prototyping.
- Knowledge of automotive HMI standards (GENIVI, Android Automotive).
- Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe XD, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects.
